Ambuja Cements Q1 net profit jumps 66.52% at Rs 664.57 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 664.57 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021 as compared to Rs 399.10 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year growth of 66.52 per cent.

Net revenue of the company rose substantially by 28.08 per cent at Rs 3,621.39 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 2,827.54 crore in the corresponding period last year.

During January-March quarter, operating expenses increased by 18.90 per cent to Rs 2,644.61 crore from Rs 2,224.31 crore in year ago period.

Other Income dipped by 37.42 per cent at Rs 55.16 crore versus (Mar'20 Rs 88.14 crore).

Operating Profit surged by 61.92 per cent to Rs 976.78 crore as against Rs 603.23 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) expanded year-on-year to 26.44 per cent in March quarter.

Interest declined by 11.50 per cent y-o-y to Rs 20.40 crore, while Taxation increased by 68.71 per cent at Rs 221.53 crore (Mar'20 Rs 131.31 crore).
